What kinds of bags can you take?
We take all standard plastic and fabric reusable shopping bags. That includes those sold at grocery stores, cotton totes you may have received as a gift with purchase, bags from a certain athletic apparel retailer or flat-packed furniture retailer, or even bags from trade shows and conferences. Please no luggage, single-use plastic bags, backpacks or drawstring bags. If you aren’t sure, just contact us to ask!
What happens to bags that can’t be reused?
Nearly all bags are processed for reuse by organizations that can use your excess bags, offsetting the need to purchase newly manufactured bags. This creates a major victory for the planet, but there are always some bags that are either too damaged, too stained/dirty, or to uncommon a size to be reused. We are currently working with recycling vendors to allow for those bags to be recycled.
Why isn’t the In Rotation mailer a reusable shipping bag?
The In Rotation program is designed to reduce the impact of packaging on our environment. Reusable shipping bags require a 90%+ return rate to be lower impact than single-use mailers; we will make the switch once we have confidence that In Rotation mailer buyers are meeting that threshold.
How many reusable bags can I put in my
In Rotation Bag?
The bag size, style, and material all impact the number of bags you can fit in the In Rotation Bag, but you can typically expect 10-20 on average. For larger quantities, you might consider using the In Rotation Box.
Are there any local dropoff locations for
my reusable bags?
We are launching take-back bins at locations around the country. Have a location in mind? Contact us so we can get you started!
How do I clean my bags before I send them in?
Bags without any visible dirt or staining can be sent in as-is. We ask that you machine wash and dry any bags with visible dirt or food stains.
When will I receive my In Rotation mailer?
After checking out on the website, you should receive your mailer within one week. If you have placed an order and haven’t received your mailer after a week, please contact us.
