Reusable shopping bags come in an almost infinite variety of sizes, materials, and conditions. Together we are building a nation-wide, comprehensive and efficient program to keep them In Rotation.
The Reusables
Over 90% of the bags we receive are still reusable. No tears, no big stains? We sort them by material type and size, then put them in inventory and send to qualified partners, eliminating the need to manufacture new bags.
Material Recovery
If bags are too damaged or stained, these bags are sorted by material for end-of-life processing. Mono-material bags are the most easily recycled, but many bags incorporate a number of different kinds of plastic or natural fibers, complicating the processing.
